Kent COG project is a finalist for a national environmental award

The Kent Community Oasis Garden is a finalist in the 2023 Green Gown Awards. The project is delivered by East Kent Mind in collaboration with the University of Kent.

The Green Gown Awards are a way of recognising impactful and innovative sustainability practice across the further and higher education sectors. The awards ceremony will see 102 Finalists representing 65 higher and further education institutions competing across 16 categories. The winners will be announced at the ceremony which will take place on Thursday 30 November at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool.

The project has been shortlisted in the Student Engagement category along with 13 other universities from across the UK. Being acknowledged as a Finalist demonstrates the projects commitment to the sustainability agenda and has enabled it to stand out among a highly competitive pool of entries.

Hilary Johnston, Strategic and Operations Lead for East Kent Mind said: “Being a finalist for the Green Gown Awards is testament to the hard work and dedication of the Kent COG team. I hope that this recognition will help raise awareness of the project, delivered in collaboration with the University of Kent, and the positive impact that it is having on the local community.”
