Veterans project launches in East Kent

East Kent Mind’s Veterans Reminiscence Project launched in October to provide wellbeing support to reservists, armed forces families and veterans.

A dozen veterans from Thanet and the Canterbury district joined the first session, held at Spring Lane Neighbourhood Centre, Canterbury. As well as wellbeing support the informal session included a music quiz and a craft session building WWI tanks and Spitfire planes.

The project is funded by Kent County Council and delivered with the support of Canterbury City Council. Sessions are held on Wednesday evenings from 6pm. Because seating is limited places must be requested in advance by emailing the project co-ordinator Simon Dolby on simondolby@eastkentmind.org.uk
