Veterans project secures funding for a further year

East Kent Mind’s award-winning veterans project has been awarded a further year of funding from the Veterans Foundation.

The grant funds a mix of wellbeing activities to support mental health, social events to reduce social isolation of ex-military, reservists and their adult family members, together with a variety of measures to attract veterans to come forward and connect with the activities available.

A key part of the project is a health and wellbeing survey to assess veterans’ needs and link them to support, courses or activities they require. The project is delivered by East Kent Mind’s Armed Forces Connector, Karen Brinkman.

Simon Dolby, Development Lead at East Kent Mind, said: “We are so excited and grateful to the Veterans Foundation for agreeing to support our work in East Kent for a further year. The veterans groups we work with are thrilled that the project can continue for another 12 months.”
