Keji Moses, the newly appointed Lord Mayor of Canterbury, officially announced East Kent Mind as her Charity of the Year.

The event at the ABode Canterbury, attended by a host of enthusiastic supporters, marked the beginning of a partnership dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing across the region.

Simon Dolby, Development Lead at East Kent Mind, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Lord Mayor for her support. He outlined the significant impact the partnership aims to achieve, including the creation of at least 100 East Kent Mind Wellbeing Ambassadors throughout the district. These ambassadors will play a crucial role in promoting mental wellness and supporting those in need within local communities.

The launch also kicked off a series of fundraising events designed to unite the community and raise essential funds for mental health initiatives.

Or in memory of someone lost to suicide, whose presence you carry in your heart?

Join us for a meaningful morning walking 3, 4, or 5km from Westgate Gardens, shoulder to shoulder with others — including the Lord Mayor — all united by a shared purpose:

To walk, to talk, to feel, and to remember.
