Warming up for Mental Elf 2024 – with help from the professionals
If you are heading to Mental Elf 2024 in Canterbury on Sunday 24th November, you will have the opportunity to have a pre-event warm up led by Sam Sterling and CTPT (Canterbury Personal Training).
Mental Elf 2024 is a family friendly 5km fun run and is a ticketed fundraising event hosted by East Kent Mind. The event starts at 10am in Canterbury and tickets are available here: buytickets.at/mindinbexleyandeastkent
Please join Sam and the team before Mental Elf for a gentle and enjoyable warm up. Before a 5km run, a warm up is essential to prepare the body for the demands of the activity and to minimise the risk of injury. A proper warm-up gradually increases your heart rate and improves blood circulation to your muscles, making them more pliable and responsive.
Skipping a warm-up, on the other hand, increases the likelihood of muscle tightness, fatigue or even strains, which can derail your performance. By dedicating just a few minutes to a thoughtful warm-up, you set yourself up for an enjoyable and injury-free 5km run.
