Running the London Marathon to Improve Mental Health in East Kent

Two brave runners will be lacing up their trainers and stepping onto one of the most iconic race routes in the world to take on the TCS London Marathon. The marathon takes place on Sunday 26th April and you can support their fundraising quest.

They are running to support East Kent Mind and its vital work to improve mental health and wellbeing across the area.

Their 26.2-mile journey through the streets of London won’t just be a personal challenge – it will be a powerful act to support people living with mental health problems in our community.

From Cutty Sark to Buckingham Palace, the London Marathon offers runners an unforgettable experience, with tens of thousands lining the streets to cheer them on and help turn every step into hope and support.

Running for a Cause

Both runners have taken on the challenge of fundraising for East Kent Mind, an independent local mental health charity dedicated to providing support, raising awareness, and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

By committing to the marathon, they are also pledging to raising significant funds that will help the charity continue delivering services and community activities that make a real difference to people’s lives.

Taking on a marathon is never easy, but for our East Kent Mind runners, every step will be fuelled by the knowledge that their dedication has a purpose bigger than personal achievement. Their efforts highlight the importance of community, resilience and compassion in the face of mental health challenges – qualities at the heart of everything East Kent Mind stands for.

Our two runners are Rob Brady and Jasdeep Sohl.
