East Kent Mind opens applications for 2026 London Marathon charity places
East Kent Mind has today announced that applications are now open for four exclusive charity runner places in next year’s TCS London Marathon 2026, scheduled for Sunday 26 April.
Following the exciting news that the charity has secured four coveted spots, we are encouraging anyone aged 18 or over to apply – especially those with a connection to Bexley or East Kent. Successful candidates must commit to raising a minimum of £2,200 to support East Kent Mind’s work in the community.
The full fundraising timeline for the London Marathon 2026 runs as follows:
- Raise at least £550 (25%) by 1 December 2025
- £1,100 (50%) by 1 January 2026
- £1,650 (75%) by 1 April 2026
- Full amount (a minimum of £2,200) by four weeks after race day

The London Marathon is one of the most iconic sporting events in the world, sending competitors past landmarks including the Cutty Sark, Canary Wharf, Tower Bridge and the Houses of Parliament before they finish on the Mall near Buckingham Palace.
To apply, prospective runners must complete an online form, sharing their motivation for supporting East Kent Mind and our fundraising strategy. Applications from people with a connection to the local area are preferred.
East Kent Mind’s Development Lead Simon Dolby expressed thanks to those considering applying to run the Marathon and noted that the funds raised will directly benefit local mental health services across East Kent. “We are delighted to be able to offer 2026 TCS London Marathon places to local runners and fundraisers. Your commitment will help us reduce stigma and provide much needed mental health and wellbeing support to local people.” he added.
