Get Active: Mind & Body Wellness Event Supports Mental Health in East Kent

East Kent Mind is bringing people together for a Mind & Body wellness event designed to support mental health, wellbeing and community connection.

The Get Active event will take place on Saturday 17 January, from 10am to 1pm, and offers a welcoming space for people to move, connect and learn more about looking after their mental wellbeing.

The session will be led by personal fitness trainer Molly Gosling from MG Mind and Movement with the support of the Peak Performance Gym – with all proceeds going to East Kent Mind’s work.

The morning will begin with a welcome and introduction, followed by a group functional workout. The workout is designed to be accessible and enjoyable, with participants working in small groups and focusing on simple movements such as squats, press-ups and light running. The emphasis is on taking part at your own pace and enjoying being active together.

Following the workout, attendees will hear wellbeing stories and reflections from Molly Gosling and counsellor Dave Williams, exploring the links between physical activity, mental health and everyday wellbeing. The session will close with a guided breathwork and relaxation activity to help participants unwind and reflect.

There will also be information stands from East Kent Mind and local partners including Bon Bon Cakes, Ember Studio and Whit Beads. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available.

Physical activity can play an important role in supporting mental health. Being active can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood and confidence, and provide valuable opportunities for social connection. Events like Get Active aim to make movement feel inclusive, supportive and enjoyable for everyone.

Places for the event are limited and booking is required.
