Stay connected this Christmas and New Year with East Kent Mind

Christmas and New Year can be a time of celebration, but they can also be difficult. Loneliness, bereavement, financial worries and changes to everyday routines can leave people feeling disconnected or under pressure.

To help people stay connected during the festive period, East Kent Mind is once again offering three free online groups.

These friendly gatherings provide an opportunity to enjoy conversation, music, games and quizzes with others, whether you are spending the holidays alone or would simply welcome some additional company.

Our Christmas and New Year online groups

Christmas Day – Friday 25 December (10am–12pm)

Spend part of Christmas morning in good company.

Our friendly hosts will bring everyone together for festive fun, including quizzes, games, music and conversation. It is an opportunity to share Christmas morning with others from the comfort of home.

Boxing Day – Saturday 26 December (10am–12pm)

The festivities continue on Boxing Day with another relaxed online gathering. Join us for games, quizzes, music and conversation, and enjoy a little extra company during the Christmas break.

New Year’s Eve Music Fun – Thursday 31 December (2pm–4pm)

Help us say goodbye to 2026 with an afternoon of music and good company.

Enjoy favourite songs, musical memories and friendly conversation as we look ahead to the New Year together.

Why staying connected matters

For some people, the festive period can make feelings of loneliness more noticeable, particularly when regular groups and activities pause for the holidays.

Having something to look forward to, sharing a laugh or simply enjoying a conversation can help build a sense of connection and belonging.

“Christmas can be a difficult time for people who are feeling isolated or missing their usual routines.

“Our online groups are a chance to enjoy friendly conversation, have some fun and feel part of a community during the festive season”.
Rebecca Makis – group host
