Rise and Run launches in Whitstable as Revival Food & Mood and East Kent Mind team up for a seafront mental health fundraiser
A new community event is set to launch in Whitstable, as Revival Food & Mood and East Kent Mind come together for Rise & Run – a fun, inclusive 5km event designed to bring people together in support of positive mental health.
The event will take place on the morning of Sunday 17 May 2026 along the seafront near the Marine Hotel in Tankerton. The fun starts at 10am.
Scheduled as the finale to Mental Health Awareness Week, Rise & Run will raise funds for both East Kent Mind and Revival Food & Mood, helping to support local mental health and wellbeing services in the community.
The event has been created to be welcoming and accessible, with people invited to run, jog or walk the 5km route. Participants can also choose to shorten the course to suit their own ability, making it an event that encourages inclusion, participation and community spirit.
Whether people take part in memory of a loved one, to help promote positive conversations around mental health, or simply for fun, Rise & Run promises to be a positive and uplifting occasion on the scenic Kent coast.

There will be a strong sense of colour and celebration on the day, with participants encouraged to follow the theme ‘Wear it Bright, Wear it Blue’. Dogs on leads are also welcome, helping to make the event a relaxed and friendly morning out for families, friends and supporters.
Rise & Run is a wonderful example of partnership working in action, bringing together the community focus of Revival Food & Mood and the wider mental health support of East Kent Mind. It promises to be a meaningful and enjoyable way for people to get active, connect with others and support better mental health across East Kent.
