Kent College Raised £1,657 for East Kent Mind and Launches Wellbeing Ambassadors Initiative
East Kent Mind would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Kent College, Canterbury, for raising an incredible £1,657.24 in support of our mental health work across East Kent.
The fundraising total was achieved through a range of student-led activities, including ticketed shows, sporting matches and raffles.
We are especially grateful to Wellbeing Prefects Millie, Hamza and Isabella, whose commitment and leadership helped make these events such a success. Their hard work has made a genuinely meaningful contribution to supporting better mental health in the local community.
Alongside their fundraising efforts, Kent College has become the first secondary school in the area to launch the Wellbeing Ambassadors initiative in partnership with East Kent Mind.

The college now has 23 trained student Wellbeing Ambassadors representing all year groups. These students have received dedicated training from East Kent Mind to help promote positive mental health, reduce stigma and encourage open conversations about wellbeing within the school.
Simon Dolby, Development Lead at East Kent Mind and a Kent College alumnus, said:
“The charity is enormously grateful to the students and staff at Kent College for supporting our mental health work in the local community. It is vital that we tackle stigma surrounding mental health and encourage positive conversations around wellbeing. This donation will help us to achieve that goal.”
People who sign up to become Wellbeing Ambassadors receive around 90 minutes of training from East Kent Mind, covering our local services, key mental health statistics, available support options, myths and facts around suicide, and practical social action ambassadors can take within their communities.
