Salon joins Ambassador Project

Fresh from taking her Community Ambassador training with East Kent Mind, salon owner Jo Holden has signed up her salon to join the charity’s Ambassador Project.

Jo, who owns Your Hair Hub and Your Tanning Salon in the Marlowe Innovation Centre, Ramsgate has already completed the training to become a Community Ambassador and has now made it a double by undertaking the charity’s salon training enabling her to better support the mental wellbeing of customers.

The project is supported by Ramsgate Town Council who are keen to enable more barbers, salons, tattoo parlours and nail bars in the area to take up the training and on-going support free of charge.

Training enables stylists like Jo and her team to spot signs of anxiety and depression in their customers, be an empathetic listener and knowledgeable about who to signpost clients needing additional help on to.
