Students team up to support mental health

Student ambassadors at the University of Kent are to team up with East Kent Mind to promote and deliver mental health initiatives on campus and in the community.

The ResLife team at the University of Kent is a group of students who deliver a range of social activities working for the unit’s manager Ewan Maclean. The team have selected East Kent Mind to work with to add a social action element to their programme.

The charity is supporting a separate group of students to create the new East Kent Mind Society, which will be a registered club at the university, led by East Kent Mind Ambassadors Rosie Hawkins and Katie Whitewood. This student-led society will collaborate with the ResLife Team to deliver activities ranging from wellbeing support to information sharing and fundraising activities.

Simon Dolby, Development Lead at East Kent Mind said: “We are very excited to be taking this collaboration forward and know Katie and Rosie at the East Kent Mind Society will really value the support of ResLife.”
