Staff at Mind in Bexley and East Kent launch #WearItBlue

Mind staff #WearItBlue to support mental health

East Kent Mind has launched an appeal for businesses, schools and the public to join its #WearItBlue campaign to encourage positive conversations around mental health.

This week staff at the charity’s offices wore branded T-shirts for a photoshoot that will be used to encourage the public to #WearItBlue during national Mental Health Awareness Week (15-21 May).

The campaign aims to highlight the range of services East Kent Mind delivers to support wellbeing in Thanet, Sandwich and the Canterbury district, as well as raise funds for its frontline mental health services.

Joining the #WearItBlue campaign during May is easy. Simply wear something blue such as a shirt, jumper, hat or scarf – take a selfie and post the photo on social media tagging or mentioning @EastKentMind and adding #WearItBlue in the narrative you write. East Kent Mind will share your post on its own social channels with the aim of encouraging others to follow your lead.

Simon Dolby from East Kent Mind said: “We need your help to encourage the public to have open and frank conversations about wellbeing – and the easiest way to assist is to #WearItBlue on a day of your choosing from 15 to 21 May. This works best with a group of family, friends or work colleagues all joining in the fun – and if you can hold a collection, have a cake sale or make a donation to East Kent Mind, even better!”

East Kent Mind is part of the registered charity Mind in Bexley and East Kent so donations or fundraisers using the JustGiving platform must select Mind in Bexley and East Kent to ensure funds go to support frontline services locally.
