Colin Lissenden, MD of Town & Country Housing, launches Kent Mental Wellbeing Awards

Town & Country Housing back regional awards

A major social housing provider has joined the judging panel of the Kent Mental Wellbeing Awards.

Town & Country Housing has more than 13,000 properties across the county and is a champion of wellbeing in the communities it serves.

Now the organisation, which has offices in Canterbury and Tunbridge Wells, has joined the judging panel and will help select the 50 winners and 100 nominees to be named highly commended at the region’s annual wellbeing awards.

Stuart Ilsley, Operations Director at Town & Country Housing, said: “Everyone is affected by mental health issues at some point in their lives. We provide more than 13,000 homes across the south east, so as an employer and a landlord we value individual’s wellbeing. So we are delighted to be sponsoring these awards to recognise and raise the profile of the great work that is taking place in the communities we operate in.

“Mental health and wellbeing are important to me because mental health is just as important as physical health. It affects how people think, feel and act. For me personally supporting mental health helps break down stigma and discrimination – and encourages people to seek help without shame or fear. That’s why Town and Country Housingf are really proud to be a part of these awards.”

The awards will be staged in October by the mental health charity Mind in Bexley and East Kent in collaboration with a range of wellbeing and mental health organisations.

Nominations can be linked to a simple act of kindness that lifted the spirits, a business that has improved staff wellbeing, through to a targeted initiative delivered by a charity or statutory organisation to support a mental health issue.

The event is also supported by SouthEastern, Kent County Council, Kent Community Foundation, Paramount Foundation, ADM Computing, National Grid GrainLNG, Medway Council, WillowBank Education, Cactus Graphics, Blé Global, Ashford International Hotel and CommunityAd.

Nominations are accepted from the Kent, Medway, Bexley and Bromley areas and can be submitted until noon on 1 September 2025.
