Get Active event raises £800 for mental health

A brilliantly organised Mind&Body event staged by personal trainer Molly Gosling attracted more than two dozen people to take part in a wellness event.

Initially the event looked like it had raised £400 through ticket sales and donations, but at the climax of the event Kelly Wakeman, CEO of Start Inspiring, announced she would match the amount raised for East Kent Mind.

Staged at Peak Performance Gym in Hersden, the event provided a mix of a fitness challenge, stalls from wellbeing providers, and talks from Simon Dolby of East Kent Mind, and Molly Gosling and counsellor Dave Williams, exploring the links between physical activity, mental health and everyday wellbeing.

The session closed with a guided breathwork and relaxation activity to help participants unwind and reflect.

Simon Dolby said: “Huge thanks to Molly and all the team staging the Mind&Body event, and particular thanks to Kelly from Start Inspiring for matching the amount raised. For many attending this was the first time they had worked with a personal trainer and Molly made it a fun and engaging experience. She and her team were very impressive.”

Goodie bags were presented to every participant at the Get Active event in Hersden.
