Become an East Kent Mind Ambassador

Supporters of East Kent Mind can become an Ambassador of the charity by joining an exclusive programme that will help champion its work in the community.

To qualify, supporters should have completed:

  • East Kent Mind Ambassador training.
  • Have agreed to be a champion of East Kent Mind in the community or workplace – or staged a fundraiser for the charity.
  • Have signed up to receive the charity’s monthly Supporter e-bulletin.

Ambassadors typically devote one hour a week to volunteering for East Kent Mind which can taking on tasks such as:

  • Putting information posters about wellbeing services and / or fundraising activities on staff noticeboards at work (Must request permission first!)
  • Posting East Kent Mind messaging on social media or adding supportive comments to the charity’s posts.
  • Staging a fundraiser at work, in the community or for family and friends.
  • Helping to man an information stand organised by the charity.

Basic training lasts 90min and equips Ambassadors with information on:

  • East Kent Mind services
  • Key mental health statistics
  • Local mental health support – both proactive support and crisis support
  • Myths and facts around suicide
  • Social action Ambassadors can take on

Optional additional wellbeing training is available.
