East Kent Mind offers a range of trainings specific to East Kent schools looking to broaden their staff understanding and ability to deal with youth mental health challenges.
Our approach is highly adaptable, designed to meet the unique needs of schools and organisations of any size. In addition to the workshops detailed below, we also offer bespoke sessions that can be delivered on-site or online, ensuring accessible support that best fits your organisation.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
This certificated two day course is suitable for those who want to gain the necessary skills to have a non-judgemental conversation, recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues affecting young people and effectively guide a person towards the right support. Please be aware that this course focuses on young people in a school, college or family setting and covers subjects that some people may find distressing.

Youth Suicide Prevention & Awareness
Our Suicide Prevention & Awareness Training is for schools based in East Kent. It’s made up of sessions which look at the challenges facing young people. These sessions aim to raise awareness, increase confidence when it comes to supporting others, and also aim to highlight the support services available in East Kent.

Mental Health Awareness Training
With one in four of us experiencing a mental health problem every year, our Mental Health Awareness training is designed to help broaden awareness about specific areas of mental health. Sessions usually last between 90min and two hours and topics include:
- Introduction to Mental Health Awareness
- Understanding Depression
- Understanding Stress and Anxiety
- Mental Health Awareness.
