Join the Big Walk and Talk

East Kent Mind’s Big Walk and Talk is a sponsored stroll on Sunday, 6 July in Canterbury, Kent.

The event’s route runs along the River Stour and takes in Todler’s Cove and the riverside area of Hambrook Marshes. There are 3km, 4km and 5km options making it accessible to everyone.

It is a peaceful and attractive area and wonderfully flat with seating dotted along its route – this makes it perfect for a Sunday morning walk. The event aims to encourage positive conversations about mental health.

Lord Mayor of Canterbury Keji Moses

All profits from ticket sales will go directly to East Kent Mind – the Lord Mayor of Canterbury’s Charity of the Year – enabling us to support more local people with their mental health and wellbeing through our teams based at Revival Food and Mood at 58 High Street, Whitstable, Kent Community Oasis Garden at Rough Common, Canterbury and the Umbrella building, 54 William Street, Herne Bay.

Funds will also be used to enable East Kent Mind to recruit, train and support 100 Wellbeing Ambassadors – part of a campaign we are running with the Lord Mayor of Canterbury, Cllr Keji Moses.

Walkers are encouraged to #WearItBlue and to share photos from the event on social media – remembering to mention @eastkentmind and using the #WearItBlue hashtag.

There will be prizes for the best #WearItBlue outfit and best dressed dog on the day.
